We'll pass O?Connell Street, Europe's largest street and pass Christchurch Cathedral, and the Bank of Ireland, which is formerly the Irish House of Parliament. If you keep a close eye on the road, you may even spot Molly Malone wheeling her wheelbarrow! The afternoon is free for shopping or sightseeing, and perhaps a visit to Trinity College and the Book of Kells. Tonight, we travel to Jameson's Distillery where we will enjoy a tour of the distillery followed by their famous shindig an evening of music and merriment! We will visit Glendalough, where St. Kevin founded his 6th century monastic settlement. On then to the lovely town of Avoca, where the popular TV series Ballykissangel was filmed. We continue to Waterford, where we will see the magnificent crystal as it is crafted at the Waterford Crystal factory. After checking into the hotel you have some free time to explore before dinner. (B,D)Overnight: Tower Hotel or similarDay 5: Blarney/Killarney After breakfast experience Waterford with a historical walking tour, where you will learn all about Viking Waterford. On then to Blarney where we will visit the castle and kiss the famous Blarney Stone to gain the gift of the gab! Indulge in a little shopping at the famous Blarney Woolen Mills. We arrive into Killarney in the late afternoon. (B,D)Overnight: Killarney Towers Hotel or similarDay 6: Ring of Kerry After breakfast we embark on one of Ireland most scenic drives, the Ring of Kerry. We head along the coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula through the towns of Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Sneem. The circle is completed as our route takes us on to "Ladies View" then back to Killarney. In the afternoon, step back in time and opt to take a ride in a traditional horse drawn cart by the lakes of Killarney. (B)Overnight: Killarney Towers Hotel or similarDay 7: Cliffs of Moher/Limerick We depart Killarney and head north crossing the Shannon River by ferry into Kilimer, County Clare. Our first stop today is the majestic, spectacular, and mighty Cliffs of Moher. Rising 700 feet above the ocean and extending 5 miles, the Cliffs offer sweeping views of the Atlantic, the Aran Islands, and Galway Bay. We reach Limerick in the afternoon. Tonight turn back the clock with a Medieval Banquet in an Irish Castle. (B,D)Overnight: South Court Hotel or similarDay 8: Limerick/Galway/Donegal Leaving Limerick, we travel to Galway, "the city of Tribes" after the fourteen families who originally settled in the area. Enjoy this historic city visiting the Cathedral and Claddagh area. Continue to Knock, where we visit the Marian Shrine and Basilica, Ireland's place of pilgrimage. Before arriving at our hotel we stop at the grave of William Butler Yeats, and are reminded of his famous works. Our drive takes us along Donegal Bay to the fishing village of Killybegs and then northwards through the charming towns of Ardara and Glenties, the latter winning Ireland's Tidy Town Award. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Our drive south continues to the beautiful 17th century Cabra Castle, situated in Kingscourt Co. Cavan where we will spend our final two nights stay Ireland. This evening, dinner is at your hotel. (B,D)Overnight: Cabra Castle or similarDay 11: Megalithic Tombs Tour This morning, discover the mystery of the ancient stone circles of the Boyne Valley at the Newgrange Visitor Center. Explore the full scale replica of Newgrange's Passage and Chamber before continuing on to the mystical tombs Knowth which predate Stonehenge and the great Egyptian Pyramids. This afternoon there is plenty of time to enjoy the Castle. A special farewell dinner and local entertainment awaits us tonight back at the castle.
