The adventure begins! (Meals on flight) | | Day 2 | | In Flight. | | Day 3 | | You will arrive in Bangkok. Our guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The day is free to relax rest up and prepare for the exciting trip. We will pick you up for an early dinner followed by a complimentary two hour traditional Thai massage. Complimentary Thai Massage | | Day 4 | | Today the day begins with a trip to the Reclining Buddha Temple. After lunch you will go to the incredible Grand Palace with Wat Pra Kaeo. Several unique buildings stand side by side, from the Golden Stuppa to the glittering Wat and the governmental buildings with the English architecture and Thai roofs. Evening: Traditional Thai dinner with classical dances and traditional performances (and beautiful costumes). (Possibly meet the dancers before backstage) B, L, D | | Day 5 | | Today you will be taken outside of Bangkok to see the King's Summer Palace. Then you will proceed to the ancient capital of Ayuthaya. There are some fascinating ancient ruins of the temples, stuppas and kingdom buildings including some that are reminiscent of Angkor Wat. B, L | | Day 6 | | You will leave early in the morning to visit the Floating Market. Here you will ride on the canals through an older Thai river neighborhood and onto the actual Floating Market area. We will take you to lunch at the Rose Garden, where you can enjoy the grounds. Possibly go to the cobra show. B, L | | Day 7 | | You will fly to Chiang Mai. The day begins with a visit to the Doi Suthep, the ancient temple sight. After lunch we will take you to the Handicraft villages Visit the Chiang Mai and Tribal Research Center with guide. Evening Option: The Night Market B, L, D | | Day 8 | | After breakfast you will visit the Elephant Camp, see the elephant and the cultural show and take a one hour elephant ride, go on a bamboo raft and learn about the noble Asian elephant and the worker monkeys. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Orchid Farm. Evening: Khantoke dinner with hill tribe dances (spectacular show, dance, music and costumes) B, L, D | | Day 9 | | After breakfast you will go on an excursion to visit the hill tribe villages where you will meet the Aca, the Hmong, Yao and the Karen (the people with the multiple rings around their necks). Many of the natives have stands with handicrafts, hats, weavings, embroideries, etc. Lunch will be at local restaurants along the way. After you arrive in Chiang Rai you will check into your hotel. Dinner will be at a local restaurant in Chiang Rai. B, L, D | | Day 10 | | Day 08: Today you will visit the Queen Mother's Home and Garden, Doi Tung. You can even eat lunch in the area and return to the gardens. Then, we will take you to the Burmese border. Then you will visit the historic Golden Triangle where three countries share a border, Thailand, Laos and Burma (Myanmar). Then you will take a ride on a small river boat to the Burmese side and stop on a small island owned by Laos. B, L, D | | Day 11 | | You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Phuket (via Bangkok). Upon arrival your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. B | | Day 12 | | Free Day Option: A jungle safari which includes an elephant ride, a boating experience, a fairly unique elephant show and elephant demonstration as well as a monkee show. Evening Option: Fantasee, the excellent multi-media show and dinner B (with option the dinner is included - $35/person) | | Day 13 | | Free day Option: The Phi Phi islands tour (this all day tour includes a high speed boat ride through the beautiful Phi Phi islands, some snorkeling experiences, beach stops including famous May Bay, lunch on the main Phi Phi island and some time to lounge and work on a tan). Dinner will be served at a beautiful Thai restaurant. B, L, D | | Day 14 | | Return flight to Bangkok and back to the US with a lifetime of wonderful memories! B (meals on flights) |
