Bike through the South Moravian wine country, medieval towns, castles, impressive architecture, sparkling lakes, rolling hillsides, and lovely forests. Day 1: Vienna to Hlohovec
Please be dressed to ride. Your guide will meet you in Vienna at the Franz Joseph Railway Station waiting area between 9 and 10am to drive you to the outskirts of Vienna. If you are staying at a hotel in Vienna, arrangements can be made to collect you there. You will be fitted for your bike and you are off on you biking adventure. You will be transferred to the Austrian countryside to begin your cycling. Cycle along quiet country roads towards the border of the Czech Republic into Moravia. Overnight in Hlohovec.Day 2: Lednice
Today's cycling route takes you to Lednice, where you can visit Lednice Park and Lednice Castle. Pedal through a region of neatly harvested vineyards, beautiful lakes and fantastic limestone cliffs. At day's end, you will find yourself back in Hlohovec. Overnight Hlohovec.Day 3: Hlohovec to Telc
Today you will cycle to the UNESCO town of Telc with its Renaissance and Baroque buildings. Telc is one of the most beautiful Moravian towns. First mentioned in the 13th century, it is considered a unique historical town reserve and is preserved under UNESCO status. Overnight, Telc.Day 4: Telc to Trebon
Today ride to the spa town of Trebon. Spend your evening enjoying the local beer and fresh fish. If time permits, visit the Czech brewery Regent in Trebon. Overnight, Trebon.Day 5: Trebon to Cesky Krumlov
Today bike on gentle and rolling terrain from Trebon to Cesky Krumlov. Here you may want to visit the 5th century Celtic castle. Cesky Krumlov is one of the most important historical town reserves in the Czech Republic. It has also been preserved under UNESCO status. Overnight, Cesky Krumlov.Day 6: Cesky Krumlov
Your day begins with a train ride to Cerna v Posumavi. Enroute you will pass Lipno Dam. Enjoy an exhilarating downhill ride into the village of Vyssi Brod. Here, visit a 13th-century Monastery. The Vltava River becomes your guide as you head back to Cesky Krumlov for the night. Overnight Cesky Krumlov.Day 7: Cesky Krumlov to Pisek
Head toward Pisek along tiny country roads and through many charming villages. Nearby is Ceske Budejovice, famous for Budvar, "The King of Beers" where a pitcher still costs around a quarter! Cycle through Holasovice, which has UNESCO status because of its unique architecture. Your day's ride will end in Pisek. Overnight in Pisek.Day 8: Pisek to Prague
Pedal north through lovely countryside to Orlik where you can visit its ancient castle. Mid-afternoon you transfer to Prague (2 hours), the "Paris of Eastern Europe". You will be dropped at the Prague train station or your Prague hotel if you are planning on adding nights in this golden capital city.
