The piece de resistance here is El Castillo, best known for its amazing carved snakes. | | Days 3-4 | Palenque | The ruins are like nothing else. A climb to the top gives endless views of the jungle; enjoy the lush surrounds and waterfalls. | | Days 5-6 | San Cristobal de las Casas | Enjoy the stunning Chiapas highlands.The villages here mix Catholicism and indigenous religion to create a fascinating hybrid.
