Description
Days 1-2
San Gimignano to Colle Val d'Elsa
Get your heart pumping in San Gimignano, pedalling around its thirteen towers. There are plenty of museums and churches to visit, and the treasures within give an idea of the city's prominence during the Middle Ages.
Day 3
Colle Val d'Elsa to Monteriggioni
A pretty winding road through wide open pastures makes for an easy ride to Monteriggioni. Enter the city walls, under the watchful gaze of the towers, and you can take a step back in time attending a workshop showcasing ancient Italian trades such as leatherwork.
Days 4-5
Monteriggioni to Siena
The road to Siena passes through classic Tuscan countryside - rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards and the occasional castle. Cycle the crooked cobbled streets into the heart of the city - the Campo - and take in this beautiful, lively piazza, perhaps with an ice-cream cone in hand. Your final day will be easily spent exploring the marvellous sights and well-stocked shops.
