DayDestinationDescription
Days 1-2CorfuThis Ionian adventure begins on the charming island of Corfu, named for the beautiful nymph that Poseidon, God of the sea, fell in love with. Having been under Venetian rule for a very long time, the ancient buildings with their trademark arches add to the romance of this place. Spend free time enjoying the beautiful beaches, perusing priceless artefacts in the many museums or just kicking back at a bistro on the handsome esplanade of Liston.
Days 3-4PargaLocated on the mainland, Parga is a picturesque little town with an island feel. Chill out in one of the many harbourfront coffee shops or head to the beach to swim in the crystal-clear waters. Alternatively, take a day trip to the paradise of Paxos for a lazy lunch in one of the sleepy fishing villages. For something a little more daring, venture into the gloomy ruins of nearby Nekromanteio, also known as the Gate of Hades.
Days 5-6KefaloniaEnjoy the natural wonders of Kefalonia, one of the largest islands in Greece. Take a boat out to a secluded beach from here, or explore the spectacular caves along the impressive coastline. Nearby is the small island of Ithaca, of Homer's Odyssey fame. At night, the liveliest bars and clubs can be found in the capital of Argostoli.
Days 7-8AthensFrom the iconic Parthenon to Syntagma Square, the bustling core of the city, there is plenty to see and do in this 3000 year old capital. Perhaps amble the scenic path from the Temple of Olympian Zeus to the Acropolis or learn a little classical history in one of Athen's many museums. Otherwise, go shopping in the chic suburb of Kolonaki.
