    Day 1: Arrive Athens, Saturday

  • You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
  • Two nights' stay in Athens. (D)

    Day 2: In Athens, Sunday

  • After breakfast, half day Athens S/S Tour, a cosmopolitan and bustling capital city, is set amid ever-present reminders of a long and a glorious past, graceful Greek temples, Roman Arches and ornate Byzantine churches. Visit the immortal Acropolis with each architectural masterpiece, the Parthenon, said to be the most perfectly proportioned building of all time, Also see the Erectheum with the Porch of the Meidens, and the Temple of Nike Apertos, the Wingless Victory. Below the Acropolis lies the Ancient Agora and the Theaters of Dionyssos and Herodus Atticus. Afternoon free.

    Day 3: To Delphi and Kalambaka, Monday

  • Departing to Delphi, in the lee of windswept Mount Parnassus, one hundred miles northwest of Athens lies Delphi , one of the most beautiful spots in Europe, where the famous Delphi oracle once foretold the destiny of men. The temple of Apollo in which the famed Oracle functioned, was built in the 6th century B.C. Also see the sacred Way, the stadium and the Castilian Fountain, where pilgrims cleansed themselves in preparation for consulting the Oracle. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, which contains an impressive collection of finds from the site, including the beautiful "Bronze Charioteer" continue to Kalambaka. Dinner.

    Day 4: To Ohrid, Tuesday

  • After breakfast, ?climb to the top of the Meteora, known as "The rocks that fell from the Sky", where monks built their nests away from civilization. Of the 13 large and 20 small monasteries and hermit's cells, only four are now active. The most important one of the group of monasteries, Megalo Meteoro, is of peculiar architecture with its tall and intricate dome with twelve sides and fine frescos. Continue to Ohrid, stopping at Bitola on the way. Dinner, overnight.

    Day 5: Ohrid to Tirana, Wednesday

  • Lakeside resort Ohrid is nowadays an important cultural and spiritual centre classified as UNESCO's World Heritage site. We start our morning sightseeing tour with a walk through the cobblestone streets of the old town including entrance to the Cathedral of St. Sofia, containing some magnificent frescoes from the 10th century. In the early afternoon we continue towards Tirana, capital of Albania. Dinner, overnight.

    Day 6: In Tirana, Thursday

  • Morning sightseeing tour: see the Sheshi Skenderbej (Skanderbeg Square), Palace of Culture was built with Soviet assistance, .the mosaic on the facade of the National History Museum represents the flow of Albanian history. The Puppet Theatre has a surprising past: before World War II, it housed King Zog`s Parliament. Other significant buildings here include the imposing red-brick National Bank, the Ethem Bey Mosque, and the Skanderbeg Statue. Afternoon free. Overnight.

    Day 7: To Dubrovnik, Friday

  • After breakfast we leave towards town of Shkodra, where we stop for a short sightseeing featuring the Rozafa Castle, Mesi Bridge and Leaden Mosque. Cross the border to Montenegro and drive via Bar, Budva and Herceg Novi towards Dubrovnik. Dinner upon arrival.

    Day 8: In Dubrovnik, Saturday

  • There is a walking tour of "Old Dubrovnik" this morning; the Rector's Palace, Bell Tower clock, Orlando's Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure.

  • This morning we depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, to Split. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter's Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. 227 km

    Day 11: To Trogir and Plitvice Lakes, Tuesday

  • After breakfast, we head north along the coast to Trogir, the center of artistic activities, where scholars from around the world gather to study and paint. Then it's on to Zadar, the oldest Slavic city on the Adriatic, once famed cultural center. We pause here for an orientation tour that includes the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Cathedral and St. Donat Church. Our journey continues as we turn inland towards the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. 317 km

    Day 12: Opatija, Postojna and Bled, Wednesday

  • Return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Opatija. After some free time, journey north to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterwards, continue to Bled, beautifully set amidst the Julian Alps.

    Day 13: In Bled, Thursday

  • A sightseeing tour of Bled features the charming town with the lakeshore, and imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure for optional activities, such as visiting the small island in the middle of the lake.

  • Start your day with a walking tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
