Day 1 (Monday): Depart USA
Day 2 (Tuesday): Arrival in Rome and Welcome Dinner We will meet you at the airport in Rome and drive you in our own van across the beautiful Central Apennine mountains directly to Palazzo Tour D'Eau in Carunchio, where you will be staying. In the evening you'll attend a multi-course welcome feast and we'll all get acquainted and settled in.Six nights in Carunchio (D)
Day 3 (Wednesday): A Quick and Healthy Mediterranean Dishes, Salame plant and Olive press We'll explore the basic ingredients of traditional Abruzzo cuisine and make some of the best seasonal sauces for pasta dishes. The theme for this lunch will be healthy homemade meals in 30 minutes. You'll see how delicious, easy, and healthy Mediterranean cuisine can be. We'll lunch on our tasty creations in traditional Italian style, slowly and in good company! After our leisurely lunch, you'll rest up for the afternoon activities. We will visit a salame production plant and learn how this incredible product is made. Plus a visit to an Olive press will show us the procedure of Olive oil making. We will also learn the sampling techniques.(B) and (D)
Day 4 (Thursday): Homemade Pasta Extravaganza, Agnone, cheese plant and bell foundry Learn how much fun and utterly delicious making pasta at home can be, in a variety of colors and shapes. We'll teach you all the tricks to making pasta all chitarra, gnocchi, lasagna and stuffed pasta so your dishes turn out great every time. After lunch, we'll take you down to Agnone, in the region of Molise, where you can watch real family production of mozzarella, ricotta cheeses and cacio cavallo. And then we will visit an ancient bell foundry which provides bells to the Vatican city where you will learn about the phases of the manufacturing.(B) and (D)
Day 5 (Friday): Vasto, trabocco ?fishing house?, shopping, Cosmetic organic lab Your day starts with a trip down the Adriatic Coast to Vasto for a little sunbathing, shopping and and take in a sightseeing tour of the coast's unique "trabocci" fishing houses. Weather permitting you will be able to experience a fishing experience at the trabocco, an old fishing house sitting in the middle of the sea. For a real special treat enjoy shoe shopping to a huge selection outlet store. Then we will visit an organic cosmetic lab that makes soap and body lotions with olive oil and goat's milk it is an amazing sensation on your skin.(B) and (D)
Day 6 (Saturday): Learn the Art of Preservation Learn how to preserve fruits and vegetables in the Italian way. Make fruit preserves and a variety of pickled vegetables, plus learn how to preserve using oil. Taste and discover how these ingredients are a big part of the Abruzzese cuisine. Your afternoon will be free to walk around town and enjoy the peaceful environment.(B) and (D)
Day 7 (Sunday): Desserts; Wine sampling class Learn how to make mouth watering desserts and pair them with the liquors made the previous day. After lunch, we are going to take a wine sampling class. We are going to sample 4 of the best Abruzzo wines and we are going to learn how to pair food with wine, with our own sommelier.(B) and (D)
Day 8 (Monday): Last minute shopping and transfer to the Eternal City Today you?ll have a last opportunity to stroll through Carunchio and get your morning coffee or shopping done before you are transferred to Rome for your two-night stay in the Eternal City of Italy and home to the Catholic Churches? offices, museums and the papal apartments and monuments immortalizing the likes of Caesar, Constantine, Vittorio Emanuele and Musolini.Two nights in Rome (B)
Day 9 (Tuesday): Rome Stroll the ancient streets of this fabulous city at your leisure.(B)
Day 10 (Wednesday): Return Flight Today you will be transferred to Rome's Fiumicino airport for your departure flight back to the United States and hope to have left you with everlasting memories of Italy!(B)
